Tool 7

After working on this tool for several days and trying to figure out which button to push, I had to finally give up.  I went back an read some comments from others and didn't feel too bad when I read that others where having trouble as well. I really don't know how this particular tool would help me in my class? I didn't want to be negative, but I was, due to the fact that I was having trouble. I had to stop and think and say to myself that this if for our students reguadless of the trouble that I was having. I will seek out help with this tool at a later time. I was not happy with myself getting fustrated but, I wanted to finally  work on a tool all myself.

reflections

1.  My favorite (all this being new to me and being honest) is the Wiki and looking up music and dance steps on You Tube. I know that I will be able to use it in my classroom.

I enjoy music and dancing.  I like to challenge myself by looking around at all of the students and can pin point out those that cannot  move to music due to shyness or having two left feet. Anyway,  by the time we have moved to music and  I have done all things possible to move in all possible ways,  I can see a tremendous change in these students. I can actually see a transformation by the end of the year! And that to me makes me happy to see them happy.
I would plan to use this as a teaching tool to make my classes more interesting.

2. I think transforming my thinking will take some time! I don't think I can do it over night or  just be looking over all these tools will change my thinking in a snap. All I kept asking myself is how am I going to use this? Can I actually tell my kids to stop when I am the only outlet they have? I do know that this was so overwhelming. I am processing daily  all this great information provided to us. I actually need to see someone come into my class and make it happen. I am not afraid or will deprive my students from moving forward, however, I need to take baby steps and see how this will work in my classroom.

3. The only surprises was that I was NOT up to par with what technology had to offer, so much out there. Media keeps growing daily and we must stay afloat not only for ourselves but for our students.

After reading the last tool I fully come to an understanding of why it is so important for our students to become good digital citizenship. We as teacher have a duty to our students to give them all of the wonderful resource that are out there. Technology plays a big part in helping them learn more than what we as teachers know. I don't exactly know how I can teach this to our students but if there is a will than most certainly I will find that way to reach those or all of our students. I will , most certainly try to get them were they need to be.   I want to be able to piggy back of the teachers and help in anyway possible. The tools that we have been given is a start and I know that we are headed in the right direction for our students to become knowledgable of whatever we have to offer. I do want our students to be prepared for middle school just like all the other students from the surrounding schools.  If we can just let them know what is out there and how they can go about attaining it and not to be afraid of asking for help, I think that would be important and a start for our kiddos. I (teachers and students)
are all going to be part of a learning process when it comes to learning digital media, some of us stronger than others. We will all have to work out effective strategies on our own and with time and training I know that we can all be successful!

Tool 10

The two free Apps. that I viewed were Science Glossary and Brain Game. I chose science glossary since I wrote for one one of my goals to assist with science vocabulary fpr the TAKS grades and perhaps that will help. I would use I touch in  stations. I also chose Brain Game because I could incorporate numbers with some of my health/fitness activities. I did not see anything that could help my students move since that is what we are all about. I have a had time seeing students sit since they do that in the classroom and that would defeat the purpose of my job. I would certainly use them, however, when setting up stations.

In my field of health fitness we are all about moving and living a healthy life style. I can honestly say if I am able to view others work from other countries, that would be awesome to see what they have to offer that would benefit our students. I know that anytime the students are in motion and we have the camera out they will just about do anything. I thing this is a great tool if perhaps there was a class just for teaching all the ideas that Jing has to offer  and using these tools with certain students I can see how it could benefit them.
You always have those that just simply want to get away from pen and paper and just be free to move.

I got on YouTube .com and found two videos that would help me in my classes with line dancing.

The video " Cha cha boom Line Dance" . I really would like to use these in my classses especially during

In health fitness, the wikis would assist in organizing classroom assignments. Helpful hints on nutrition and excerise that the students can utilize from home without teacher supervision.

The examples provided suggestions on how best to communicate and schedule school activities.
